Chinese National denies killing Kano girlfriend, Buhari
A who was said to have killed a 23-year-old Kano lady, Ummulkhuksum Sani Buhari, who was also his lover, has denied killing her.
Quarong who appeared before the Kano State High Court on Thursday where his charges were read out to him via an interpreter in his local language denied killing Buhari.

Recall that Quarong’s arraignment suffered another setback on the 4th of October when his counsel, Barrister Muhammad Balarabe Dan’azumi urged the court to provide an interpreter of English Language to the Chinese to enable his defendant to face his trial comprehensively.
The defence counsel cited Section 36(6) A, B and E of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and section 237(2) of Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) 2019 of Kano State.
He further said his application was to prevent his client from being ambushed, who doesn’t understand the English language as a language of the court.
In his response, the Kano State Attorney-General, Musa Abdullahi Lawan, said even though, the defence counsel raised a constitutional issue, regarding the interpreter, he said the Defendant spoke good English but promised to write to the Embassy of China Republic in Nigeria to provide an interpreter at the instant of the Defendant.

Quarong was charged under section 221 of the penal code law, punishable with death.
Following his denial, Justice Sanusi Ado Ma’aji consequently, adjourned the case to 16, 17 and 18th November for further hearing.
He ordered the defendant to be remanded in Correctional Service.
