The duo who were once playing in the English Premier League (EPL) moved to Serie A to continue with their career – their move may have been influenced due to lack of play time in Chelsea but they miscalculated the move.

A larger number of players in the English squad are in the EPL.

According to some football football enthusiasts, duo had themselves to play for opting to play for England when they had the opportunity to play for Nigeria due to their parental heritage.

The Super Eagles would have qualified for the mundial for the first time being hosted in the Middle East if the likes of Tomori and Abraham had chosen to play for Nigeria.

There is every tendency that they will not be called up for national engagement for competitions of this magnitude.

Tomori, 24, left Chelsea in 2019 for AC Milan while 25-year-old Abraham headed to AS Roma from Chelsea in 2021.
