FCT-IRS warns against fake appointment letters in circulation

The Federal Capital Territory-Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) has denounced the fake appointment letters being circulated in the name of the service with the intention to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians.

A statement issued on Tuesday by the Head of Corporate Communications, Mustapha Sumaila, said the FCT-IRS is not recruiting presently and hence cautions the general public to be careful not to fall victim to those scammers and unscrupulous elements.

The statement reads, “FCT-IRS does not sell employment and whoever demands money for a job in the name of the Service is a fraudster, therefore, you are advised to report such person or group to appropriate authorities.

“And anyone who patronises such fraudsters does that at his or her own peril.

“Meanwhile, the Service has put necessary measures in place to check and ensure those perpetuating the nefarious activities are brought to justice.

“The general public is hereby urged to always visit the Service’ website, www.fctirs.gov.ng or info@fctirs.gov.ng for any information”, the statement further stated.
