Senegal on Friday afternoon became the first (1st) African team to record a victory at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar after beating hosts, Qatar, 3-1.

The African champions were first to find the back of the net before half-time in the 41st minute courtesy Boulaye Dia.
They doubled the lead three minutes after the break to make it 2-0 by Famara Diedhiou.
The hosts who were at great advantage mustered some confidence to reduce the tally in the 78th minute as Mohammed Muntari, a Ghanaian-Qatari scored the country’s first goal of the tournament.
With six minutes to end of normal time, Bamba Dieng sealed the victory for Senegal to make it 3-1.
Senegal are currently third in the waiting for the outcome between the Netherlands and Ecuador.
