NDE to disburse N4.2 million to 42 unemployed youths in Adamawa

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) will disburse N4.2 million to 42 unemployed youths as starter parks at the end of the ongoing three months training on sustainable agricultural development in Adamawa State.
Malam Ibrahim Jimada, NDE Coordinator in Adamawa, stated this at the inauguration of the training on Wednesday in Yola.

He said the training would be in four aspects, theoretical and practical under the Department of Rural Empowerment scheme (REP).
Jimada said that the beneficiaries have the opportunity to be trained in Agricultural Enhancement Scheme, Sustainable Agricultural Development Scheme, Community-Based Agricultural Empowerment, and Graduation Agricultural Empowerment Scheme.
The state coordinator advised the participants to take advantage of the opportunity to exit joblessness.
He commended the NDE management for providing all support needed for the success of the training in the state and the country in general.
Mr Edam Duke, HOD REP, National Headquarter, Abuja commended NDE for the programme and urged the beneficiaries to be committed as they would appreciate the gesture in the end.
Duke who was represented by Hauwa Ibrahim said the federal government is also committed to the success of the training.
“Those who are serious will soon be self-employed and employers of labour,” she said.
Miss Deborah Gisilanbe and Salihu Nuhu, who spoke on behalf of the participants, thanked NDE for the training and promised to actively participate in achieving the objectives of the training.
In her address, Zainab Audu, representative of the Rural Empowerment Programme Scheme (HOD) in Adamawa, advised the participants to realise that farming is a lucrative business.
She urged them to pay attention and acquire the skill for successful implementation in the field.
“With the training, you will become millionaires and employers of labour within a short time, if you put it into practice”, she said.
She called on them to be good ambassadors of their respective communities by ensuring peace and unity for sustainable development.
