The South American champions got their first goal on a platter after a penalty was awarded to them in the 34th minutes and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) striker, Lionel Messi’s left footed strike put his country on the lead.

They doubled the lead five minutes later by a counter attack and Manchester City forward, Julián Álvarez who partnered with Messi on the half way line charged through the defenders and poked ball over the goalkeeper in the box as it crosses the touchline into the net to make it 2-0 before half-time.

Messi was also instrumental in Argentina’s third goal after wadding through a couple of Croatian defenders and connected Álvarez with a short pass seeing the ball rolled behind the goalkeeper into the back of the net to seal victory for Argentina.

Croatia on the other hand gave their best. It appears their level of performance against Brazil last week dropped to see them going for the third place.

Argentina will play in the final on Sunday against France or Morocco which will be decided on Wednesday, December 14.
