Police kill bandits’ leader, Madaki Mansur, 12 others in Bauchi

Bauchi State Police Command said officers on routine patrol have killed 12 notorious bandits and kidnappers, including their gang leader, Madaki Mansur.

The command’s spokesman, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, on behalf of the Commissioner, CP Aminu Alhassan, said the criminals have been terrorising the state and other neighbouring states for some time.

Daily Independent reports that efforts to fight criminal activities in Bauchi State, especially in Alkaleri L.G.A have been intensified recently.

According to SP Wakil, “On the 19th December 2022 at about 0230hrs a Joint Operation of security operatives engaged suspected bandits/kidnappers in four different hideouts; Mansur, Digare, Gwana and Dajin Madam in Alkaleri forest.

“Following the hot exchange of superior fire-power by the operatives, 12 of the kidnappers were neutralised while others were subdued, dislodged, and scampered in disarray into the nearby bushes with possible gunshot wounds which made them abandon their camp.

“Consequently, weapons and operational motorcycles were recovered during the operation.

“Meanwhile, the Command is intensifying efforts to apprehend the fleeing members of the syndicate, he said.
