Wife accuses sister-in-law of using cooking to charm husband

An Ibadan-based trader, Sola Famuyibo, has accused her brother-in-law’s wife, Sumbo, of using her cooking to charm and lure her husband, Williams, into committing adultery.

Famuyibo made the allegations in response to Williams’ claims that she had been maltreating him in their 33-years of marriage.

“My lord, Sumbo is after my life. She pushed my husband into committing adultery and now he is dating someone else. She has caused Williams to leave our house and has completely destroyed our marriage. I beg the court to reconcile my husband and me,” pleaded Famuyibo.

Williams had previously sought a divorce from Famuyibo, citing her alleged mistreatment and lack of care for him, which had caused him to move in with his younger brother.

He said: “I ran away from our home in January 2022.

“My lord, due to Sola’s unhealthy attitude and meanness towards me, I am now living with my brother.

“In fact, I don’t have peace of mind because she doesn’t take care of me.

“I had five children before I married Sola in 1990, but all of them are living with my other relatives as a result of Sola’s repulsive attitude toward me.

Famuyibo denied these claims and stated that she had been a faithful and caring wife throughout their marriage.

The court’s president, Mrs S.M. Akintayo, adjourned the case until April 27 for cross-examination.
