Kano police arrest 44 suspects, recover dangerous weapons

The Kano State Police Command has continued its war against thuggery and drug abuse by arresting 44 suspects for armed robbery, thuggery, and drug trafficking in various operations conducted across Kano metropolis.
SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday, indicating that the feat followed an aggressive clearance operation to restore peace in the state.
The operation was led by CSP Bashir Musa Gwadabe, Officer in Charge of Anti-Daba Squad.
Kiyawa added that the operation aimed to rid Kano State of all forms of crimes and criminality, especially the menace of thuggery, drug abuse, as well as other social vices.
He further disclosed that all the suspects from various addresses within Kano Metropolitan were arrested with dangerous weapons, illicit drugs, robbed, and stolen properties.
“The suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigations,” he said.
In preparation for the 2023 Eid-El-Fitr Sallah celebrations across the state, the state Commissioner of Police, Mamman Dauda, warned that anyone found in possession of any weapon during the festive periods would be arrested.
He further called on all criminals to repent or leave the state completely, as they would be arrested and face the full wrath of the law.
The Commissioner of Police also thanked the good people of Kano State for their continuous support, understanding, encouragement, and cooperation.
