Now that NAFDAC suspended the use of ‘Special Chicken flavour’ Indomie noodles, by Adamu Musa Kaloma
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration (NAFDAC) has issued a notice to stop the import or use of Indomie noodles with the title “Special Chicken flavour”.
NAFDAC has stopped the use of this type of Indomie based on a study conducted in Malaysia which confirmed the presence of Ethylene oxide which is known as Epoxide or oxirane in it. This chemical was created in 1859 in France by a scientist Wurzt.
The use of this chemical was high during the First World War when it was used to cool weapons. This ingredient is used to protect the taste of things, which means ‘preservative’ in English. The surprising thing is that since 2003, evidence of the relationship between this substance and cancer has been reported.

Many reports have shown the relationship between this chemical and cancer, but today in 2023 it is said that it is used as a food preservative and it is only sold to us and we eat and smile after the side effects that come with it.
The question here is whether the NAFDAC board can conduct quality and safety inspections of food before it is introduced to the market. Why are they justifying the decision of Malaysia in the narrative?
What is the use of science students in this country if this continues? This is the reason why if it is not necessary, we should eat more ‘Natural Products’ that we grow and grow because their effects are less compared to the things that are advertised to us and we buy them.
Let’s go back to tradition, eat healthy food, and build a strong body, not follow the times and kill ourselves.
