Kannywood’s Hadiza Gabon faces accusations of sabotage by fellow actress Rashida Adamu

Hadiza Gabon, a renowned actress in the Kannywood industry, recently found herself in a heated media debate that almost escalated into a public altercation.
Both parties, Rashida Adamu and Hadiza Gabon, accused each other of undermining the activities and progress of Kannywood, the Kano-based Hausa Film Industry.
Hadiza Gabon, who rose to fame in Nigeria over a decade ago with the help of Yakubu Lere and Ali Nuhu, joined Kannywood and achieved great success.
Recently, she acquired her own YouTube Channel, where she conducts interviews with personalities, politicians, businessmen, and Kannywood actors and actresses, generating substantial revenue. However, things took an unfavourable turn when she invited Rashida Adamu, a wealthy and controversial figure, to her program.
During the interview, after spending some time interviewing Rashida, Gabon granted her permission to ask her some questions regarding her recent activities, to which Gabon agreed.
“Hadiza, I commend you for acquiring your own YouTube Channel. I have been hoping for an opportunity like this to tell you on air that you are one of the saboteurs of Kannywood. You used the industry to make money but failed to support its activities,” Rashida expressed.
“Recently, we organized several meetings to raise funds and assist those of us who are less fortunate, planning weddings, or facing medical issues. Unfortunately, you refused to attend and only sent money. I want you to know that some of us are also well-off.”
“I recall when you first joined Kannywood, you were often seen at Zoo Road, a popular meeting point for actors and actresses, or in Salisu Officer’s office, or with Zuby King. However, now that you have become successful, you rarely come to Kano to associate with us or engage with your fellow colleagues. You are sabotaging the activities of Kannywood,” Rashida accused.
Shocked and speechless, Hadiza Gabon, who never expected such a public attack, was initially confused. After regaining her composure, she explained to Rashida that she consistently contributes money to all Kannywood events.
Due to her busy schedule and the fact that she is based in Kaduna, shuttling between Kaduna and Abuja, she finds it challenging to physically attend every occasion. She vehemently denied chartering an aircraft to attend Halima Atete’s wedding in Maiduguri, emphasizing that Rashida’s claims were unfounded.
The program was abruptly taken off the air and ended prematurely, as it was veering towards a physical altercation.
