Katsina police rescue 5 women, eliminate bandit in daring operation
The Katsina State Police command announced that its troops had successfully neutralized a suspected bandit, rescued five kidnapped women, and recovered an AK-47 rifle during a recent operation.
The command’s spokesperson, Gambo Isah, issued a statement to the press, providing details of the incident.
According to Isah, the police received a distress call reporting an attack on Bajinawa village in Dutsinma LGA.
The assailants, identified as terrorists on motorcycles, were indiscriminately firing AK-47 rifles and had abducted five women.
In response, the area commander, Dutsinma, led a team of dedicated policemen to Tashar Icce, a suspected route and notorious hideout for the bandits.
Upon reaching the location, the police engaged the hoodlums in a fierce gunfight, successfully repelling their attack.
During a thorough search of the area, one member of the terrorist gang was neutralized, and the team managed to recover an AK-47 rifle.
Most importantly, all of the kidnapped victims were safely rescued.
It is believed that several other terrorists managed to escape with gunshot wounds.
Search parties are currently combing the area to apprehend the injured or neutralized bandits.
The Command urges members of the affected communities to report any individuals with gunshot wounds to the nearest police station.
This measure will aid in identifying and capturing the fleeing criminals.
