Undergraduate stabbed to death by SS3 student for dating sister

A tragic incident occurred on Saturday in Lokoja, Kogi State, where a student named Williams, who was studying Physics at the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), was stabbed to death by an SS3 student.

The motive behind the attack was allegedly Williams’ relationship with the assailant’s elder sister.

According to reports from City & Crime, prior to the incident at Williams’ father’s residence in the 200 Housing Estate (Old Poly Quarters), the victim had been facing issues related to his romantic involvement with the sister of the perpetrator.

Sources revealed that the assailant visited the Old Poly Quarters compound, posing as a student in need of assistance with a particular subject for his upcoming WAEC exams.

Unaware of the ulterior motive, Williams’ father directed the assailant to Williams’ room. Once inside the room, the assailant stabbed Williams in the stomach before hastily fleeing the premises.

Tragically, Williams succumbed to his injuries before his family could rush him to the Specialist Hospital in Lokoja.

The suspect was subsequently apprehended by the police.

Mr. Daniel Iyke, the spokesman for FUL, confirmed the incident, stating, “The police are handling the matter. The student resided with his parents, and the stabbing occurred in his house as alleged.”

Despite attempts to reach out to SP William Aya, the spokesperson for the Kogi State Police Command, there was no response to calls or text messages regarding the incident.
