2023 Democracy Day: Gov. Bago pledges improved welfare for Nigerlites

Niger State Governor, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Umaru Bago, has reassured the people of Niger State of his administration’s unwavering commitment to improving their welfare.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, to commemorate the 2023 Democracy Day, the Governor emphasized that the welfare of citizens is of utmost importance for the development of a democratic system.

Governor Umaru Bago acknowledged the years of successive administrations, both at the national and state levels, since Nigeria returned to democracy.

He firmly believed that it was time to break away from the usual rhetoric and adopt pragmatic solutions to the challenges of governance in order to safeguard the hard-earned democracy.

“As the leader of this state, I am determined to make Niger great, and the lives of its citizens must be improved,” he stated.

The Governor praised all patriotic Nigerians who had made sacrifices to ensure the celebration of Democracy Day and urged the residents of Niger State, as well as all Nigerians, to remain steadfast in sustaining the dreams of the country’s founding fathers.

While extending his congratulations to the people on the occasion of Democracy Day, Governor Umaru Bago expressed his sympathies to those affected by the recent resurgence of banditry attacks in parts of the state.

He reassured them of his commitment to ensuring a secure state and explained that the impact of his discussions with the Service Chiefs would soon be felt by everyone.

The Governor offered prayers for the souls of those who lost their lives and wished a speedy recovery for the injured, as well as the safe return of those who were abducted.

He also called on the people to continue supporting his administration’s policy thrusts and reminded them of their commitment to building a just, secure, prosperous, and vibrant society.
