Also in company with Akpabio was the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma and the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, who is also the outgoing Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Neptune Prime reports that the visit might be linked to Tuesday’s inauguration of the 10th National Assembly.

There is an uneasy calm in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after the party few weeks ago made known to the public their preferred zoning formula for the leadership of both the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Akpabio who is the preferred aspirant of the APC for the Senate Presidency is said to contest the race with an aggrieved member of the party, Abdulaziz Yari, a former Governor of Zamfara State.
