Former Minister slams Ahmed Lawan, urges investigation into Senator Bulkachuwa’s confession
The former Minister of Education, Dr Oby Ezekwesili, has slammed the immediate past Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan, for interrupting a confession of crime by Senator Adamu Bulkachuwa.
Dr Oby Ezekwesili said this in a tweet she made on her twitter handle, while reacting to Senator Bulkachuwa’s statement and the claim that he influenced the judiciary through his wife, former President of the Court of Appeal Zainab Bulkachuwa.
Ezekwesili said that the Nigerian judiciary and some corrupted political officials are steadily confirming how they trade the country’s democracy.
She further demanded to know what Senator Bulkachuwa was saying at the senate chamber before he was interrupted by the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan.
Mrs Ezekwesili also called on the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to immediately institute investigation of all election cases that came before the former president of the Appeal Court, the wife of the confessing senator that comprised her, if there is any honour left in the judiciary of Nigeria.

Neptune Prime reports that the senator representing Bauchi North Senatorial Zone, Senator Bulkachuwa claimed that he influenced some decisions his wife made when she was an Appeal Court Judge to help his colleagues and friends.
“I look at faces in this chamber who have come to me and sought for my help when my wife was the President of the Court of Appeal,” the 83-year-old said while addressing the assembly.
“I didn’t name any name. We know ourselves,”
While Senator Bulkachuwa was still speaking, he was interrupted by the immediate past Senate President, Ahmed Lawan.
After interrupting him, Senator Ahmed Lawan said he doesn’t think it was a good idea for him (Bulkachuwa) to go towards that direction.
