Adeniyi emphasized the significance of this meeting with the NSA, as it aimed to find effective solutions to combat smuggling, which poses a severe threat to the nation’s economy and security due to the porosity of its borders.

Recall that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR as the Acting Comptroller-General of Customs on June 19, along with the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, the Service Chiefs, and the Inspector-General of Police.

The collaboration between Customs and national security agencies is of utmost importance to enhance border security, curb illegal activities, and safeguard Nigeria’s economic interests and overall security.
