President Tinubu nominates Abbas Balarabe to replace El-Rufai as ministerial nominee for Kaduna State
President Bola Tinubu has nominated Abbas Balarabe as the ministerial nominee to replace former Governor Nasir El-Rufai for Kaduna State following El-Rufai’s withdrawal.
The Senate is set to screen Balarabe before assigning him a portfolio.

Prior to his nomination, Balarabe had served as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of Kaduna State under both Governors Nasir El-Rufai and Uba Sani.
This move comes after the Senate had previously denied El-Rufai’s confirmation due to security concerns during screening.
