Abduction Of Students: Zamfara Governor assures rescue, vows to make university community safer
Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, visited the Federal University Gusau on Thursday to assure the students and their parents that security agencies were working hard to rescue the abducted students.
The governor also promised to provide adequate security in the university community, ensuring that students could carry out their academic activities without fear of attack.

The governor gave the assurance after conducting an on-the-spot assessment of the security situation within the university and its environment, following the abduction of over 30 female students at Sabon Gida community.
Lawal, who was away when the incident occurred, immediately visited the Federal University, Gusau upon his return to the state. At the university, he assessed the situation and received briefings from school management, and they together agreed to strengthen the security architecture of the university.
The governor also addressed the students, advising them not to allow the unpleasant situation to demoralize them from pursuing their studies.
