Six die in tragic Kaduna-Abuja highway auto crash
A tragic auto crash on the Kaduna-Abuja highway near Sabon Gaya, Kakau axis has led to the death of six individuals.
The accident occurred at around 7 a.m. on Thursday when a commercial vehicle registered as DKA 555 XF and belonging to the Gulf Car Company collided with a concrete barricade after the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle.
Kabir Yusuf Nadabo, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kaduna State, confirmed the incident to Daily Trust and stated that the bodies of the victims have been taken to the morgue at St. Gerald Catholic Hospital in Kakuri, Kaduna South LGA.

Nadabo attributed the cause of the crash to a combination of factors such as speeding, loss of control, and a burst tire. He urged drivers to exercise caution and adhere to responsible driving practices on the road.
The sector commander expressed concerns over the timing of such accidents which commonly occur between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. as well as between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
During these hours, commercial drivers operating overloaded vehicles often perceive that FRSC personnel are not on the road, thereby increasing the likelihood of reckless driving practices.
He emphasized that the FRSC and other road safety advocates have consistently warned motorists against creating illegal diversions to prevent unfortunate incidents like this one.
Nadabo expressed sadness over the occurrence and hoped that it would serve as a reminder of the importance of patience when driving, particularly on the section of the Kaduna-Abuja road currently undergoing reconstruction.
He extended his condolences to the families of the victims who lost their lives in this tragic yet avoidable incident.
