Armed with a knife, they reportedly carried out the theft at a flyover bridge near the Jimeta Modern Market in Yola North LGA in broad daylight.

It is alleged that Abdulazeez had stolen the knife they used to intimidate the victim from his grandfather.

Witnesses stated that the boys targeted the woman as they noticed her walking along the street. They threatened her with the knife, demanding that she hand over her bag. When she informed them that she wasn’t carrying anything of value, they searched her bag and made off with her phone.

However, luck was not on their side. As they attempted to flee the scene, several vigilant men who had been observing the incident quickly intervened and prevented their escape.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Adamawa State, Suleiman Nguroje, has confirmed the arrest of the boys. He assured the public that they will be prosecuted accordingly.
