Abuja man in court for defiling 4-year-old daughter
In the FCT High Court in Kubwa, Modupe Maduba, an assistant chief intelligence officer, testified in the case against Onyebuchi Ezema, a 35-year-old man accused of defiling his four-year-old daughter. Mr. Ezema, a resident of Zone 9, Lugbe Airport Road, Abuja, has been charged by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) with assault, to which he pleaded not guilty.
During the cross-examination by the defense counsel, Opeyemi Adeyemi, Ms. Maduba revealed details about the alleged incident. She stated that the incident occurred on the night of April 15, 2020, at Lugbe Zone 6. The defendant lived in a one-bedroom self-contained apartment with his wife, son, and the victim. On the day of the incident, the defendant’s wife had left her child with her cousin while she went to work.

The defense counsel inquired about the presence of blood stains on the minor, fingerprint examinations, and the contents of the medical report. Ms. Maduba responded that she did not find any blood stains on the victim, no fingerprint examination was conducted, and the medical report did not specify who broke the victim’s hymen.
In response to the defense counsel’s submission, Justice Asmau Akanbi-Yusuf adjourned the matter until December 13 to consider the no-case submission.
