NEDC assures Yobe of continued developmental projects

In a recent visit to Yobe state, Major General Paul Tarfa (rtd), the Chairman of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), expressed the commission’s commitment to executing laudable projects that would positively impact the lives of the people in Yobe and the North East region.
During the courtesy visit to the Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni, Tarfa stated that “the reconstituted board of the NEDC is ready to continue their projects and assess both completed and ongoing initiatives”. The visit also aimed to gather the demands of the people in the state.
Tarfa assured that the NEDC would do everything possible to ensure unrestricted access to development in the North East region.
He commended the present administration in Yobe state for their dedication to rapid infrastructural development, making the state stand out as an example.
In response, Governor Buni, represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana, expressed gratitude for the visit and highlighted the urgent need for intervention in the College of Agriculture Science and Technology in Gujba, which suffered from a devastating attack by Boko Haram.
He also called for the NEDC’s assistance in the renovation of Geidam Polytechnic, which experienced similar destruction.
Governor Buni appealed to the NEDC Chairman and management to consider their plight and find a viable solution for the institutions to meet the requirements of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
Following the courtesy visit, Chairman Paul Tarfa conducted an inspection of projects executed by the NEDC in Buni-Yadi town of Gujba Local Government Area and Damaturu.
