Gunmen in Jigawa abduct wives of Kiyawa Local Government Chairman
Gunmen launched an assault on the residence of the Kiyawa Local Government Chairman in Jigawa State, resulting in the abduction of his two wives.
The chairman, Honourable Nasiru Ahmed Kiyawa, informed BBC Hausa that the gunmen invaded his home after the Isha’i prayer on Friday night, forcibly dispersing people outside before gaining entry.
The chairman said: “They fired twice at my door before entering.

“From there, they took my two wives, they are still holding them hostage”.
The State’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Adam Shiisu, confirmed the incident, stating that they received an emergency call and promptly dispatched officers to the scene.
However, the gunmen had already taken the chairman’s wives before the arrival of law enforcement.
Shiisu mentioned that the police force has deployed officers across the local government to secure the rescue of the abducted women.
He also encouraged the public to share any information that could aid in the capture of the kidnappers.
