Tinubu unveils digital CRVS system with geospatial data

On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu launched the electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System (CRVS) and the Geospatial Data Repository.

The initiative aims to make a complete shift from traditional paper-based recording of vital events to a modern digital solution that follows international best practices.

According to the National Population Commission (NPC), the platform will digitise all civil registrations such as birth registration, stillbirth registration, birth attestation, adoption, marriage notification, divorce notification, migration and death.

At the launch in the Presidential Villa in Abuja, President Tinubu said the population is the nation’s greatest asset in the development process.

“Collecting accurate and reliable information is an essential governance activity which is also consistent with our renewed hope agenda. The commission will therefore be supported in the conduct of the next census,” Tinubu said.

“I would like to specially thank the private solution providers for this commendable project and assure them that the Federal Government of Nigeria will always extend their hand of partnership to all private investors that want to partner with this government at all levels.”

The Nigerian leader also stated that his administration is open to business as well as areas of partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
