Ibrahim Ogabo, the President of the Student Representative Council of university, confirmed in a phone conversation with Channels Television that the students have been released.

He said the students were immediately taken to the school’s clinic for medical attention after their release.

Neptune Prime reports that the ugly incident occurred off-campus when armed men attacked students’ communities kidnapping unspecified number of students.

Abubakar Ibrahim, the Head of Information and Public Relations of the institution, verified the abduction of the students.

However, the school administration is yet to ascertain the specific details regarding the number of students taken, their names, or the departments they belong to.

DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), also confirmed the incident, stating that Acting Commissioner of Police DCP Shettima Muhammed had promptly initiated security patrols around the university area to ensure the safety of students.

Following the unprecedented attacks in the institution where terrorists kill and kidnap students for ransom, the students staged a peaceful protest on Thursday.

The protest disrupted traffic flow on the Lafia/Makurdi Road for several hours until the intervention of security agencies restored order as the students insist on the protection of their lives and property.
