Katsina police launch manhunt as terrorists kill 8 traders, kidnap 2 others
Armed bandits have attacked a group of traders returning from the Jibia weekly market near Kukar Babangida village in Katsina State, killing eight persons and abducting two others.
Neptune Prime gathered that Police operatives are currently searching for the perpetrators of the attack who have fled to the Zurmi local government area of Zamfara State.
The state’s police spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, confirmed the incident to journalists, stating, “Yes, it is true. The command has since deployed measures to prevent a recurrence and has deployed its operational assets to track down and apprehend the culprits.

The police commissioner extends his condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of those affected by the incident,” Aliyu said.
According to reports, the bandits opened fire on the vehicle transporting the traders killing eight people while four passengers sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment.
The deceased have been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites.
