What killed Governor Akeredolu in Germany – Ondo government
The Ondo State Government has officially confirmed the demise of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, putting an end to several hours of speculation surrounding the news of his death.
In a statement released by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, it was disclosed that Governor Akeredolu passed away in Germany on Wednesday after a prolonged battle with prostate cancer. The announcement read in part, “Mr. Governor peacefully departed from this world in the early hours of today, Wednesday, December 27, 2023.”

Governor Akeredolu, hailed as an extraordinary leader, demonstrated unwavering dedication to the people of Ondo State and emerged as a prominent advocate for the entire South-West region and the nation. The commissioner emphasized his courage, integrity, and the immeasurable impact he made during his tenure.
The government finds solace in recognizing that Governor Akeredolu lived a purposeful life, devoted to the service of God Almighty. A formal letter has been dispatched to President Bola Tinubu to officially convey the tragic news.
