Nigeria’s Aruna Quadri loses to Zhendong Fan in world table tennis finals
Nigeria’s top table tennis player, Quadri Aruna, has been eliminated from the World Table Tennis Men’s Finals in Doha after a 0-3 (6-11 9-11 4-11) loss to the world number one, Zhendong Fan.
The thrilling quarter-final match at the Lusail Sports Arena saw the Chinese player dominate the game, ultimately leading to Aruna’s exit from the tournament.
Aruna, currently ranked 16th in the world, came close to turning the tide in the second set, but Fan’s exceptional skill and expertise secured his victory.

Prior to the quarter-finals, Aruna had achieved a remarkable 3-2 victory over the world number five, Brazil’s Hugo Calderano in the Round of 16, showcasing his exceptional talent and capability in the competition.
As the event draws to a close, with the semi-finals scheduled for Friday, the tournament boasts a prize fund of 340,000 US dollars.
