Nigeria Customs Service PRO visits NCBN to discuss revitalisation plans

Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSC) Abdullahi Maiwada, who serves as the National Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Customs Service and also holds the position of Director at Nigeria Customs Service Broadcasting Network (NCBN), recently undertook a working visit to the NCBN.

The purpose of the visit was to delve into the plans for revitalising the network to ensure its effective operations under the leadership of CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR.

During the visit, CSC Maiwada, a pioneer Liaison Officer of NCBN during its establishment in 2020, expressed optimism about the prospects of re-establishing NCBN.

He emphasized the importance of having a standard broadcast station dedicated to reporting on commerce, trade, and national economic issues, and voiced confidence in ensuring the success and broader reach of the specialized broadcasting.

CSC Maiwada also stressed the Nigeria Customs Service’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with Nigerians, highlighting the connection between these efforts and CGC Bashir Adeniyi’s initiatives to facilitate trade, suppress smuggling, and generate more revenue for national infrastructural development.

The Managing Director of NCBN, Jamilu Yusuf, warmly received CSC Maiwada and underscored the significance of the visit in assessing the network’s preparedness for its relaunch.

During the visit, the PRO and his team were taken on a comprehensive tour of the network’s offices, gaining valuable insights into the current state of facilities and engaging in discussions on areas that require attention as part of the network’s re-establishment process.

The collaborative efforts between the Nigeria Customs Service and the NCBN signal a promising future for enhanced communication and information dissemination on crucial matters impacting the nation’s economy.

This visit signifies a crucial step in laying the groundwork for the successful revitalisation of NCBN.
