Yobe Council for Arts, Culture unites all artists ahead of North-East Trade Fair

In preparation for the upcoming North-East Trade Fair, the Yobe State council for Arts and Culture has united all artists in the state to strategies on performances that would yield excellent result to the government and people of the state.

The Executive Director, Yobe State Council for Arts and Culture, Hajiya Husna Ibrahim, addressed the artists during a meeting in Damaturu.

Hunsa commended the effort made by individuals and groups of artists in the state towards sensitizing, promoting and preserving the arts and cultural heritage of Yobe State.

She lauded the image making of the leadership and people of the state as well as the entertainment accorded to target audience.

She revealed that more can be done to tap maximum benefit for the interest of Yobe State.

According to Husna Ibrahim, this importance shaped their decision to bring all stakeholders to a round table discussion which was impactful and fruitful.

She further said, “At the end, it is agreed that the artists now have one umbrella forum (Yobe Artists Forum) comprising of singers, actors, script writers, producers among others.

“All performances during government functions will be coordinated by the state Council for Arts and Culture and issues regarding welfare will be systemically pursued through the council.

“Peace and unity in line with government policies and programmes takes centre stage. All preparations to give adequate representation of Yobe at the forthcoming North-East trade fair commences immediately and many others.

Husna was thrilled by the expression of happiness and readiness from the groups and individuals both present and represented.

“I am most grateful to all the artists for entrusting this huge task on us, hoping that the much needed support and cooperation will be given to us to serve Yobe better,” said Husna.
