Police arrest 45-year-old electrician for defiling 2-year-old girl
Officers of the Rivers State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) have apprehended a 45-year-old man on allegations of defiling a minor.
The accused, who works as an electrician, is said to have committed the heinous act against a 2-year-old girl on Gada Street, Ogbumnabali in Port Harcourt.
According to reports, the victim’s father became aware of the situation when the child started crying uncontrollably during a bath, expressing pain in her private area.

After persistent questioning, the girl disclosed the details of the assault, highlighting how the suspect had touched her inappropriately in his shop when she was alone.
Guided by the brave child, her father accompanied her to the shop where the incident occurred, situated in front of their residence.
The sorrowful single father, who lost his wife during childbirth, promptly reported the matter to the authorities at the Old GRA Police Division. Law enforcement officers acted swiftly on the report, leading to the arrest of the accused.
SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson for the command, confirmed the arrest and informed that the suspect had been transferred to the State CIID in Port Harcourt for further investigation and legal proceedings.
