Army honours injured troops, encourages disabled personnel

The Commander of the 33 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Emmanuel Egbe, has presented tokens to soldiers who sustained various degrees of injuries in the line of duty, resulting in their current physical disabilities.
General Egbe also extended token presentations to young soldiers in recognition of their commitment to their roles within the Brigade.
He emphasised that the Nigerian Army is proud of these soldiers and will not neglect them.
He advised the Brigade troops to remain professional and committed in their service to the nation, especially in support of civil authority.
A statement signed by the Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 33 Artillery Brigade, Lieutenant Atang Solomon, noted that the Commander gave this advice during a first-ever organised luncheon with Brigade troops at the Vulcan Officers’ Mess, Shadawanka Barracks, Bauchi.
The Commander stated that the token presentations were intended to motivate the soldiers to continue their exemplary service and to inspire others to excel.
He mentioned that the event was organised to honour the troops for their unwavering commitment and professionalism, demonstrated by the Brigade’s achievements, including winning the 3 Division’s Warrant Officers and Senior Non-commissioned Officers Inter-Brigade Competition 2024, successfully participating in the 2024 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) in Jos, and providing security for the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, during his visit to Bauchi.
Brigadier General Egbe expressed appreciation to the General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (GOC/Comd OPSH), Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, for his guidance and support in achieving these successes.

He further thanked the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, for his leadership and commitment to ensuring that troops are motivated to perform their roles professionally in aid of civil authorities, as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
