House Majority Leader announces removal of all Kano emirs
The Majority Leader of the Kano State House of Assembly, Lawal Hussaini Chediyar Yan Gurasa, made a significant announcement today declaring that there are currently no emirs in Kano State following the repeal of the Kano State Emirs (Appointment and Deposition) Law.
The repeal of this law, which occurred on Thursday, comes after the establishment of five new Emirates in the state was revoked.

As per the new bill, all offices created under the repealed law have been invalidated, and all district heads who were promoted or appointed under the previous law have been instructed to return to their original positions.
The next step in this process involves Governor Abba Yusuf signing the new legislation into law, further solidifying the changes that have taken place within the Kano State Emirate structure.
