It is noteworthy that in 2019, Mr Ibu made headlines by alleging that his kinsmen paid some of his domestic workers to poison him due to his successful career.
Subsequently, in May 2022, he claimed to have been poisoned for the third time, revealing that he had seen visions of the afterlife during his illness.
In an interview with Vanguard Newspaper, Okafor shared details of his health journey, stating, “My illness was actually perpetrated by people that hate me. They did what they did to me… I was seeing some dead people… God brought me back.”
Despite the challenges, Mr Ibu remained resilient, emphasizing the importance of life and expressing gratitude for being given a second chance.
His unique comedic style and contributions to Nollywood will be remembered by fans and colleagues alike as the industry mourns the loss of yet another beloved talent.
