Matawalle orders CDS to fish out killers of Sokoto District Head
The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has condemned the murder of Isa Bawa, the District Head of Gatawa in Sokoto State, as a heinous and unacceptable act.
Matawalle has directed Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, to lead efforts in locating and apprehending those responsible for the killing.
Isa Bawa was abducted in July along with his son and six others while travelling from Sokoto to Sabon Birni.

A ransom delivery team discovered Bawa’s body after the kidnappers had demanded a ransom.
Prior to his death, a video emerged showing the 74-year-old monarch pleading for his release.
The Ministry of Defence, through its Director of Information and Public Relations, Henshaw Ogubike, has stressed that securing the nation remains a top priority for President Bola Tinubu.
The government has vowed that the Armed Forces will diligently pursue the perpetrators and ensure they face justice.
