The Sokoto State Police Command has apprehended several individuals involved in a protest in Sabon Birni, the headquarters of Sabon Birni Local Government Area, following the death of the abducted District Head, Isa Muhammad Bawa

According to a statement by ASP Isah Mohammed, the deputy public relations officer of the Command, the suspects are accused of setting ablaze both private and public properties, including 25 housing units constructed by the state government to accommodate officials posted to the area.

The police have vowed to thoroughly investigate the incident and hold accountable those responsible for the unrest. The Command emphasized that it will not tolerate any attempts to disturb public peace under the guise of protests and warned that anyone found culpable would face legal consequences.

In the aftermath of the incident, a detachment of mobile police personnel has been deployed to the area to maintain peace. The Command also urged law-abiding citizens to go about their daily activities without fear, assuring them of their safety and protection.
