KACRAN urges peaceful solution following Emir of Gobir’s murder
In response to the tragic murder of His Royal Highness Alhaji Isa Bawa, the Emir of Gobir, the Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN) has strongly condemned the heinous act and urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Defence Minister, and the National Security Adviser to urgently consider the association’s proposed road map for resolving ongoing conflicts in the North West region.
The Emir of Gobir was kidnapped and killed by bandits in Sokoto State, despite a ransom payment of over 60 million Naira. KACRAN described the kidnapping, murder, and subsequent ransom collection as deeply troubling and wholly unacceptable in modern Nigeria.
The association highlighted the Emir’s 45 years of selfless service in promoting peace, unity, and mutual understanding across the country.
KACRAN noted that the Emir was on a peace mission to Sokoto when he was abducted, making his death all the more tragic.
KACRAN expressed outrage not only over the murder but also over the circulation of a video showing the Emir pleading for help, which they condemned as a display of inhumanity by his captors.
The refusal to return his body for a proper Islamic burial was also described as a grave injustice.

KACRAN called on both the Sokoto State and Federal governments to act swiftly to bring those responsible to justice, emphasizing the need to restore public confidence in the government’s ability to protect its citizens. The association also urged the bandits to cease their criminal activities, reminding them that justice will ultimately prevail.
In extending condolences to the Emir’s family and the people of Sokoto State, KACRAN prayed for Almighty Allah to grant him eternal peace and strength to his loved ones in this difficult time.
KACRAN reiterated its call for the government to consider its road map for peacefully resolving the North West conflicts, emphasizing that their strategy offers solutions without military involvement and addresses the root causes of the violence through research and sustainable non-governmental funding methods.
