Mustapha Waziri, 30 other ACPs become DCPs as PSC promotes 505 SPs to CSPs

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of 31 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) to the rank of Deputy Commissioners (DCPs). This decision was one of the key highlights from the Plenary Meeting held on Friday, August 30th, 2024.

Ikechukwu Ani, the Commission’s spokesperson, announced the promotions, which are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the leadership within the Nigeria Police Force. The newly promoted DCPs include notable officers such as Godspower Origho, Area Commander in Kabba, Kogi State; Abubakar Argungu Ibrahim, Coordinator BPU, Sokoto State; and Kabiru Ibrahim of the Department of Operations, Cross Rivers State Command, among others.

Additionally, the Commission has elevated 52 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) to the rank of Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) and promoted 505 Superintendents of Police (SPs) to Chief Superintendents (CSPs). These promotions reflect the PSC’s commitment to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force.

Among the newly promoted CSPs are Raphael Iwamittigha Irowainu, Abraham Ogedegbe, and Esther Ezenwanyi Okey, alongside several other distinguished officers who have shown exemplary service.

The Commission also promoted 84 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) to the rank of Superintendents (SPs), further solidifying the leadership framework within the force.

DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, congratulated the newly promoted officers and emphasized the importance of patriotism and dedication in their service to the nation.

He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to building a police force that upholds its duties with honor and integrity.
