Wale Edun, Nuhu Ribadu lead Federal delegation to Yobe, pledge end to terrorism after Mafa attack

A high-powered delegation from the Federal Government today paid a sympathy visit to Yobe State, expressing condolences over the recent insurgency attack on the Mafa community in Tarmuwa Local Government Area.
The delegation was led by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun, and included the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, among other top government officials.
Mr. Edun, speaking on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reassured the people of Yobe State that their safety remains a top priority for the administration.
“President Tinubu is deeply concerned about the security of lives and property, particularly in regions affected by insurgency. His administration is working tirelessly to address these issues,” Edun said.

He also emphasized that the government is focusing on revitalizing the economy and attracting both local and foreign investors to create job opportunities for Nigerians, especially those in areas affected by terrorism.
The NSA, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, commended the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for their relentless efforts in combating terrorism in the Northeast.
He assured the people that the end of terrorism and banditry in Nigeria is near. “The security agencies have made incredible sacrifices to protect the nation, and we are witnessing the beginning of the end of these security challenges. It is only a matter of time before the entire country will be secure,” Ribadu stated.
Governor Mai Mala Buni, in response, expressed deep gratitude to the Federal Government for the visit, stating that it gave the people of Yobe State a sense of belonging and reassurance. “We appreciate the leadership of President Tinubu, especially at such a challenging time for the country. This visit strengthens our belief that the Federal Government stands with us in our struggle against insurgency,” the Governor said.
He further reiterated that Yobe State is fully committed to supporting the Federal Government in achieving its developmental and security objectives.
Governor Buni also praised the military and other security forces for their efforts in restoring peace and security in the state.
The visit comes amid heightened efforts by the Federal Government to tackle insurgency in the Northeast region, with a particular focus on addressing the root causes of insecurity and ensuring the rehabilitation and reintegration of affected communities.
