The Federal Ministry of Education has confirmed a security breach involving the phone line of Professor Tahir Mamman, the Minister of Education.

The alarming announcement was made by Boriowo Folasade, the Director of Press and Public Relations, on Friday morning.

In response, Professor Mamman took to his X handle to warn the public, stating: “My phone line has been compromised. Please refrain from calling the number and ignore any messages requesting assistance until the issue is resolved. Thank you for your understanding.”

Folasade elaborated that hackers have already misused the compromised line. The ministry’s official statement emphasized, “The Minister’s WhatsApp number has been hacked and is currently being exploited by unauthorized individuals.

We deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause and urge everyone to disregard any request messages received from that number until further notice.”
