Pastor found dead after praying on Abuja mountain for Nigeria
An Abuja pastor, John Ogbonna, has been found dead on a rocky mountain along Arab Road, where he had gone to pray and fast for Nigeria amidst ongoing economic struggles.
A video of his lifeless body went viral on social media after being discovered last Thursday, following his ascent to the mountain in search of spiritual intervention for the country’s challenges.
The deceased was identified as a member of the Ohazara community from Ebonyi State, residing in Mpape, a suburb of Abuja. Mr. Obinna Okorie, a neighbor, alerted the deceased’s relatives, who went to the mountain along Arab Road to recover the body.
Okorie confirmed that the deceased was a devoted Christian, known for preaching and observing fasting. He also mentioned that the relatives transported the body to the mortuary.
Efforts to reach the FCT Police Command spokeswoman, Josephine Adeh, for comment were unsuccessful.
