Drama in Abuja mosque as faith merchant exposed for switching Islam, Christianity
A mild drama ensued at a mosque in Abuja, the nation’s capital on Friday, October 4, 2024, after worshippers exposed a man who specialises in switching religion to curry favour from innocent adherents.
Senator Shehu Sani, who previously represented Kaduna Central in the 8th National Assembly, shared the news on his X account, formerly known as Twitter.
According to Senator Sani, the individual, whose identity remains undisclosed, was recognised in the mosque for his history of converting back and forth between Islam and Christianity. He has allegedly exploited this behavior to solicit donations and gifts from worshippers, presenting himself as someone in need of assistance.
“A man was chased out of the mosque in Abuja today after being recognized as repeatedly converting to Islam and Christianity in many mosques and churches and receiving donations and gifts from worshippers,” Sani tweeted, shedding light on this unusual case of religious opportunism.
