Iran to build another hospital in Lebanon after Israeli bombing

The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has announced that it will establish a new hospital in Lebanon after an Israeli airstrike recently destroyed one of its field hospitals on the Syria-Lebanon border.

The IRCS head, Pirhossein Kolivand, explained that although the facility was severely damaged, no patients were present at the time of the attack. Kolivand condemned the airstrike, describing it as a “crime against humanity,” as international law typically protects medical facilities during times of war.

The destroyed hospital had been equipped with medical supplies, food, and other essentials intended for those injured and displaced by the conflict. However, Kolivand assured the public that the IRCS is dedicated to resuming its humanitarian efforts. Preparations are already in progress to open a new hospital, located around 40 kilometers from the original site

Kolivand emphasized the critical needs of those affected by the conflict, urging both financial and non-financial contributions, such as canned food and basic household items. The IRCS has also seen overwhelming support from aid workers, with over 8,000 specialists volunteering to assist in Lebanon.

These volunteers, along with public donations, are expected to reach the region through secure air, land, and sea routes as humanitarian efforts continue.
