Air Peace expands fleet for winter surge with 4 dry-leased boeing 737-800s
In a strategic move to bolster its operations during the 2024/2025 yuletide season, Air Peace, Nigeria’s largest airline, has signed a dry-lease agreement with Slovak carrier AirExplore to secure four Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
This expansion aims to meet the expected surge in demand during the busy winter travel period, particularly out of its main hub in Lagos.
The dry-lease arrangement will see AirExplore, a subsidiary of Avia Solutions Group (ASG), provide pilots for the Boeing 737-800 aircraft, while Air Peace will supply its trained cabin crew, ensuring consistent service quality.
According to Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, Head of Corporate Communications at Air Peace, this partnership will maintain the airline’s high service standards while benefiting from AirExplore’s operational expertise.
Air Peace’s fleet currently includes a wide array of aircraft, such as Boeing 737-300s, 737-500s, and several Embraer jets.

The airline’s ongoing expansion includes orders for five Embraer E175s, eight Embraer E195-E2s, and 10 Boeing 737-8s, reflecting its commitment to growth and adaptability. This dry-lease collaboration builds on Air Peace’s previous successful partnerships with ASG members like SmartLynx Airlines Malta.
While the airline has not specified how the new 737-800s will integrate with its existing fleet, industry analysts speculate that they may either supplement or replace the two Boeing 737-700 aircraft currently wet-leased from Mongolia’s Eznis Airways.
AirExplore’s acquisition by Avia Solutions Group this year and its fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircraft, including freighters, makes it an ideal partner for Air Peace as it expands its domestic and regional operations.
This move underscores Air Peace’s aim to enhance service capacity, optimize fleet efficiency, and ensure a high-quality travel experience during peak travel periods.
