Ghana Black Stars bow out of 2025 AFCON
The dreams of the Ghana Black Stars to compete in the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco have come to an unfortunate end.
In a hard-fought away match against Angola, the Black Stars managed to secure a 1-1 draw but ultimately needed a win to keep their hopes alive.
With the stakes high, Ghana needed to triumph not only in this game but also in their upcoming home match against Niger Republic to have any chance of qualification.

However, the results of their match against Angola have rendered next week’s game a mere formality.
Ghana began the match brightly, with Jordan Ayew delivering a stunning free kick in the 18th minute to give the team an early lead.
Unfortunately, their advantage was short-lived, as Angola’s Ambrosini António Cabaça Salvador, known as Zini, equalised in the 64th minute.
This disappointing outcome marks the first time in 20 years that Ghana will miss out on the prestigious Africa Cup of Nations.
