Fresh female corpse recovered in construction site

Panic ensued on Saturday at the construction site of the “Light of the Nation” tower in Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, when workers discovered a fresh female corpse.

The tower, located near the Ekwulobia bridge, is being built to bear the phrase “Light of the Nation,” Anambra State’s emblem, as part of an initiative to enhance the area’s aesthetic appeal.

While the cause of death and the burial’s timing remain unclear, sources indicated that the body was uncovered by workers during their operations.

The construction of the Ekwulobia bridge and road dualisation is part of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision to develop a smart mega city in Anambra.

A source in the area, identified as Uche, revealed that the discovery of the recently buried female corpse caused widespread panic. He said, “The body, which appeared to have been buried not long ago, prompted a crowd of residents to rush to the scene in hopes of identifying the woman.”
The discovery raised many questions about the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding her death. Some locals who recognized the corpse suggested that the woman’s husband had died around five years ago.
Within moments, a large crowd had gathered, with many expressing shock and curiosity over the unsettling find.
