Police nab 18-year-old ex-con, accomplice for generator parts robbery

The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended an 18-year-old ex-convict and his 17-year-old accomplice for alleged theft in the Idiroko border area of Ipokia Local Government Area, Ogun State.
The suspects, Abdullahi Idowu, 18, and Samson Ojo, 17, were accused of stealing generator engine parts.
They were arrested by the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps during a joint patrol on November 17, 2024.

Confirming the incident, Corps Commander Soji Ganzallo stated in a press release on Tuesday, November 19, 2024:
“Abdullahi Idowu, 18, a resident of Babaloke area, Idiroko, and Samson Ojo, 17, residing at Etikoto, Ikolaje area, Idiroko—were apprehended around 10:30 p.m. on November 17, 2024. “Both locations fall under the Ipokia Local Government Area.”
He said the arrest was conducted by the Special Squad and the Idiroko Divisional Team, led by Chief Superintendent Abdulkareem Abdulrazaq, who found two bags of stolen generator engine parts in the suspects’ possession.
Ganzallo also revealed that the suspects and the recovered items have been handed over to the Nigeria Customs Service, Ogun Area 1 Command, Idiroko, for further investigation.
