Yemen successfully down US F-18 fighter jet
The Yemeni Armed Forces have declared in a statement that they have successfully intercepted and downed an American F/A-18 fighter jet during a recent operation against a joint US-British attack.
The operation targeted the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman and several accompanying destroyers.
According to the Yemeni Armed Forces, the mission was executed using a combination of 8 cruise missiles and 17 drones.

They noted that the American fighter jet was shot down while the destroyers engaged with Yemeni drones and missiles.
The statement highlighted that following the targeting of the aircraft carrier, US military aircraft withdrew from Yemeni airspace to protect their naval asset.
Two US Navy pilots ejected safely and were rescued after their aircraft was downed over the Red Sea on Saturday, as confirmed by the US Central Command.
Additionally, the US military reported carrying out airstrikes on Saturday targeting locations in the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, further escalating tensions in the region.
