Air Peace, Fly-Nas, Max Air, UMZA chosen for 2025 Hajj operations

The Presidency has officially approved Air Peace Limited, Fly-Nas, Max Air, and UMZA Aviation Services Limited as the designated air carriers for Nigerian pilgrims during the 2025 Hajj.

The announcement was made by Abdullahi Saleh Usman, Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), who revealed that these carriers were selected from 11 companies that applied for the airlift of pilgrims.

Usman explained that the selected carriers underwent a thorough screening process by a 32-member committee formed by NAHCON in November 2024.

The committee included representatives from various aviation and government agencies, such as the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET), Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), among others.

In addition to the air carriers, three companies were chosen to handle excess cargo for the 2025 Hajj: Aglow Aviation Support Services Limited, Cargozeal Technology Limited, and Qualla Investment Limited.

The NAHCON Chairman congratulated the successful companies and emphasized the importance of fulfilling their responsibilities as outlined during the screening process. Furthermore, Usman signed the 2025 Hajj Memorandum of Understanding with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Jeddah on January 12, 2025, marking the formalization of this year’s Hajj arrangements.

The signing ceremony was attended by key Nigerian officials, including Abubakar Sani Bello, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, and Jafaru Muhammed Ali, Chairman of the House Committee on Muslim Pilgrimage, alongside representatives from the Saudi Arabian government.
